Chinkapin Oak

These are very unusual and rare oak trees. They are native to the eastern United States and grow to 60 feet tall with long narrow heavily serrated leaves. These trees are very beautiful like many other oaks do not transplant well when they are over 2 feet tall which is the reason you seldom see them in standard round pots in most nurseries. The seedlings offered here are 12-18 inches tall and are at a size that transplants well. The reason for this is that oaks have long taproots and care must be taken when transplanting them. The smaller the taproot the easier they will be to transplant These trees are hardy from zone 4-7.   SORRY CANNOT SEND TO CALIFORNIA,OREGON, FLORDA, HAWAII

Columnar English Oak

Quercus robur 'fastigata' : This I a very uncommon variety of a great tree available here at a great price. A nice tree for a narrow area. Would make an excellent specimen tree or an excellent tall hedge. The English Oak is a very majestic tree and long lived tree with attractive lobed leaves. This tree can live for over 100 years and add interest to any landscape. This tree is just like the more well know standard English oak other than the fact that it grows tall and very narrow. These seedlings are grow from seed and come 90% true to type. The columnar habit shows up very early and the 1 in 10 that is not columnar can easily transplanted to another site. 2 year old plants that are 8-16 inches tall. Grows to80 feet tall. No Shipments to California or Hawaii.
